Now Showing: Designature*
By John Wardell – May 1980
This is the first of three lectures covering the various methods of deconvolution used by GSI.
In this first lecture we look at the preferred method of deconvolution in the wavelet processing sequence: Designature.
It is a pre-stack process which, contrary to conventional deconvolution, creates a single operator per record which is then applied to all the traces in the record. It effectively collapsing the source wavelet to a zero-phase wavelet.
